Foothills Park & Rec slates Senior event Oct. 9


Join Foothills Park & Recreation District for a day filled with fun and useful health and wellness information for senior adults on Friday, October 9 from 9 a.m. - 1p.m. at the Peak Community & Wellness Center (6612 S. Ward St.) This special resource day isfree to all seniors!

Come see all that Foothills Park & Recreation District has to offer for the senior adult population. Topics and offering will include; fitness & wellness, social outings and events, a wealth of vendors representing senior living programs, health care & insurance options, SilverSneakers(r), Foothills Senior Adult Fitness Programs, alternative therapies and much more. Many offerings will provide demos and answer questions.

Other highlights include free chair massage, spinal scans, and balance assessments. A special interactive balance and fall prevention demonstration will be held in the aerobics room at 10:30 a.m. presented by Chris Katzmeyer with the Consortium for Older Adult Wellness. Other events include a 15-minute presentation on the importance of hearing testing and hearing aids by Dusty Jessen of Columbine Audiology, Inc.

and the 'Healing Potential of Acupuncture' by Dr. Lixin Zhang of Lixin Acupuncture. FREE lunch and entertainment by the Wild Coyotes, an all senior country and western band, is also included in this jam-packed day of fun!
