On Sunday, October 18, residents of Denver suburbs from Golden to Littleton to Highlands Ranch, walked together in the 20th Annual Foothills CROP Hunger Walk at Clement Park. They were raising funds to end hunger, empower the powerless, help people after natural disasters, and more.
Prior to the walk, they enjoyed music by David Mporampora and Sifa Sifa Africa at the Grant Amphitheater. Also, representatives of nongovernmental organizations and social service agencies showed what they do for others at Walk With the World tables prior to the walk.
Members of Kiwanis of Columbine volunteered to lend a hand for the event, as did members of various local congregations.
The money that was raised will go to work through Church World Service (CWS) in over 80 countries around the world. Twenty five percent will stay right in Colorado and be divided between food banks and social service agencies that serve the needy.
