Lend a hand at the Arapahoe County Fair
Contributed by: Nichole Parmelly on 5/27/2008

Red, White & Moo, The Arapahoe County Fair wants you... to volunteer. The County is looking for more than 300 volunteers for the 2008 Arapahoe County Fair, July 23-27. Volunteers are needed for children's activities, information guides, admission greeters and managing entertainment.

Volunteers are key to the success of this annual community event and allow the County to keep the costs of offering a county fair as low as possible. Plus volunteers add a unique sense of community and energy to the fair.

Volunteering at the County Fair is a terrific way to get involved in your own community. As a volunteer, you receive a t-shirt and free admission to the fair on the day(s) you work (excludes carnival rides). Volunteer orientation is 10 a.m., July 19 at the fairgrounds.

Sign up is easy. Just go to www.arapahoecountyfair.com, click the 'volunteers' link, download and complete a volunteer application form. Applications are due July 11. Volunteers will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

For more information, call Val Purser, Volunteer Coordinator, at 303-738-7938 or send her an e-mail at vpurser@co.arapahoe.co.us. For general fair info, visit www.arapahoecountyfair.com.

The Arapahoe County Fair, July 23 - 27, is sponsored by Radio Disney, South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, City of Littleton, City of Aurora, E-470 and Potestio Brothers.
