My name: Ted Mink

Age: 56

My family: Wife Carla, two children and three grandchildren

What I do: Sheriff of Jefferson County

My favorite place in town to hang out: My home in Conifer
What I like most about living here:
The people, sense of community, and quality of life

My interests and hobbies: Watching my granddaughters grow up, and being a part of their lives. My hobbies are woodworking, golf and working out.

What is my favorite thing to cook:
Oatmeal? I'm not much of a cook.

People who inspired me (and how):
Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Both took responsibility, never shirked their duties, provided leadership and held themselves accountable for their decisions.

How I have contributed to the community:
In my 33 years of law enforcement I have worked for better, safer communities in Arvada and Jefferson County. I've been able to contribute on many different levels since becoming a deputy years ago* working on the road, in narcotics investigation and supervisory and command roles before being elected sheriff.

What are the biggest issues facing your area now:
The concerns I hear the most when talking with residents are about traffic and property crime.
