Absentee voters: County wants your ballots early
Contributed by: Mindy Edstrom on 10/18/2006

Arapahoe County is encouraging voters to return their absentee ballots as soon as possible. Historically, the County receives approximately 30,000 ballots on Election Day. If the ballots are returned before Election Day, results are able to be reported more quickly on election night.

"It is important that we receive absentee ballots as soon as possible so we can ensure quick updates on election results," said Clerk and Recorder Nancy Doty.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 31 in order to receive a mailed ballot or Nov. 3 if it is picked up. The form can be obtained from the Clerk's web site at www.co.arapahoe.co.us/Departments/CR/index.asp or by calling 303-795-4511. Anyone requesting an absentee ballot should allow four to five days for processing and delivery.

The Clerk and Recorder's Office is working in conjunction with the US Postal Service to ensure voters receive their ballots in a timely manner. Please note that ballots returned by mail to the Clerk and Recorder's Office require 63 cents postage. Voters also may deliver ballots to one of the following drop-off locations:
