Arapahoe Dems celebrate the young in all of us!


Arapahoe County Young Democrats and Congressman Ed Perlmutter join together to invite the public to celebrate the young in all of us on Tuesday, April 7 from 7 to 9 pm at The International at the Copper Club at 10801 E. Mississippi in Aurora. Additional host committee membersinclude distinguished Arapahoe County Democrats Senator Suzanne Williams, Representatives Karen Middleton, Joe Rice, Nancy Todd and more.

"The Arapahoe County Young Democrats group is targeted to Democrats under 35, but this event is open to the young and the young-at-heart," said Tracie Shepard secretary of the Arapahoe County Young Democrats. "This celebration is open to anyone and we are looking forward to having a fun evening with a great mixed crowd."


The Arapahoe County Young Democrats host monthly happy hours, movie nights and other activities to support Young Dems meeting, mixing and promoting community service with like minded individuals. Typically the monthly happy hour is on the second Wednesday of the month, more information can be found at www.arapahoedems.org.


"Not only is this event a great chance to show our support of the Arapahoe County Young Dems, it is also a great way to help our fellow citizens and one of Aurora's premier food banks, Queen of Peace," said Representative Karen Middleton. "Everyone who is attending is asked to bring a non perishable food item. Protein and nutritious food items like tuna fish, peanut butter, dried milk and canned meals are great items to share as they are often the first to go in a food bank."

Queen of Peace (303-364-1056) food bank is located at 13120 E. Kentucky Avenueand open on Tuesday's and Thursdays from 9 to 3:30 pm. Proof of Aurora residency in area bounded by Alameda Ave., Iliff Ave., Havana, and Buckley Road is required.


"Suggested donations are $10 for Young Dems and $20 for the young-at-heart with all proceeds to be used to support the Arapahoe County Young Democrats organization," added Gena Ozols president of the Arapahoe County Young Democrats. "There will be acash bar, music and great conversation. So, whether you are young or young-at-heart we hope folks will stop by with a can of food and an hour or two to spare to celebrate the young in all of us."
