It was a fantastic day, mid 70's sun hundreds of kids and thousands of pounds of pumpkins. In the third annual Jared's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off there were four pumpkins that weighed over half a ton. The winner came from Wheatridge grown by

Jim Grande in Littleton and weighed over 1,050 lbs. The Rocky Mountain Giant Vegetable Growers and Jared's Nursery were delighted to see over two thousand people attend this years event. Kids were able to see over pumpkins grown by kids under 12 and the largest weighing 180 lbs and a giant squash that weighed nearly 1/4 of a ton.
We were proud too say two state records were set, one for Wyoming where a pumpkin was grown to an amazing 834 pounds and the new Colorado state record of 1,135 lbs.
