I have thoroughly enjoyed the addition of this special section to the already excellent Rocky Mountain News. The community interest lends itself to a very interesting insert.

I am the co-race director of the Platte River Trail 1/2 Marathon and Buckhorn Exchange Relay. April 2 will be the 4th annual running of this race.

The race is the fastest growing 1/2 marathon in Colorado. The 1/2 marathon and relay start at the light rail station in downtown Littleton and after 2 miles in Littleton, the race runs down the Platte River Trail, finishing at the Buckhorn Exchange Restaurant where runners are treated to lunch and given tickets to ride the light rail back into downtown Littleton. In 1909, a 10.5 mile race was run from Littleton to downtown Denver, so we have tied in this unique historical event.
