Sophomore
Grant Campbell
(Littleton, Colo./Chatfield) has been named the Bradley Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Sept. 18, after helping the Bradley soccer team to a pair of victories last week.
Campbell scored a pair of goals last week, helping the Braves to a 2-0-0 record. He netted his first goal of the season in the 22nd minute of Bradley's 3-0 victory at Western Illinois. Campbell scored the only goal of the match in the 78th minute of Bradley's 1-0 home win against Cincinnati. Campbell is tied for second on the team with two goals on the season and has helped Bradley (4-1-1 overall) to its best start since opening the 2002 season with a 4-0-2 record. Enrolled in Bradley's award-winning Academic Exploration Program, Campbell owns a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Campbell and the Braves return to action Saturday, when they play host to Saint Louis at 7 p.m. at Shea Stadium. The Billikens are ranked as high 14th in the national polls and are coming off a 2-1 victory against then #2 ranked Indiana.
