I would like to start by saying I became an Avalanche fan when they first came to Denver. I never could afford season tickets because I have had the responsibility to support and shelter 4 wonderful children. I stood in cold wintry lines with my ambitious daughter as she anxiously awaited a view of any Avalanche player after many games. If a player came and greeted the crowd and signed autographs - the look in her eyes told the whole story and truly explained why I was there. That is how it used to be. How it is now is so much different. I am now a man that has memories. My wife after 23 years of marriage and 4 lovely children has left me June 1st of this year and took my youngest kids with her. My 2 oldest kids decided to stay with me but one is away at college and the other missed his mom and the other kids. I don't blame him for moving in with her because it is always so quiet around the house and after being around 4 kids and a wife - that is a change. She turned to religion and made that a driving force in her life. For some reason she didn't think I fit in her life anymore. So, my life is quiet at home and I always look forward to spending any time with my kid when they either come home from school or I have something for them to enjoy. This opportunity would be a chance for me and the kids to re-live the moments when we stood outside in the parking lot waiting for a glimpse of an Avalanche player to come by. My oldest girl in college was that bright-eyed ambitious girl (and still is) who knew every player and their stats from the original Avalanche team. Bringing the kids together with me are few in number but everyone are truly treasured moments of my lonely life. Thank you for the opportunity and chance to win this exciting moment to re-visit the dream of the Avs.
