Grandma our hero
Contributed by: Lynda Whitesides on 11/17/2005

I do not want a lot of things, like Sable coats or diamond rings,
A new sports car or Cadillac, a swimming pool or things like that.

My Chrysler van is nice enough for all the grandkids and their stuff.
My days are spent in quite a rush with grandkids, cooking, scrub and flush.

Lasts years clothes will have to do, it really doesn't make me blue.
For all I really need to wear are my jeans and my Avalanche gear.

There are jerseys, shirts, flags and coats, sticks and pucks, and may I gloat?
A personalized autograph from Patrick Roy and film from the Stanley Cup Parade - Hoorah!

We holler, shout for joy and boo, when referee Magoo,
Calls all those penalties on us, those types of calls make us cuss.

Winning a suite for 16 would be nice, to see our Avalanche on ice.
I'd be a hero to my crew, kids, grandkids and hubby too.

But if I don't win this time because of all my silly rhyme,
My family loves me just the same if we sit at home and watch the game.
