Women go 0-2, fall to Nebraska-Kearney and Morningside

KEARNEY, NEB. -- Kenny Rhoades set a new school record as he won the one-meter competition with 445.35 points and Metro State defeated Morningside, 115-78, in a swimming and diving meet, Saturday in Kearney, Neb.

The Roadrunner women dropped dual meets to Nebraska-Kearney, 91-51, and to Morningside, 73-43.

On the men's side, Paul Bunge won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke, while Jake Haffner won the 100-yard butterfly. Evan Venrick won the 500-yard freestyle, while Rhoades won both the one and three meters.

On the women's side, Kathy Lind won the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, while Laura Michael-Trumbull won the 100-yard freestyle. Chelsea Bates won the one-meter diving competition, while she was second in the three meter.

The Roadrunners are off until Jan. 13 when they host Colorado School of Mines.

2005-06: Scored 105 points to help the Roadrunners to a fifth-place combined finish at the Colorado College Classic as a 2005-06 freshman...Won the 50-yard freestyle at both the Mesa State and Colorado School of Mines dual meets...Part of the 200-yard individual medley relay team that finished sixth at the North Central Conference Championship...Also placed seventh in the 400-yard individual medley relay...Won the 100-yard backstroke and placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in a meet with Nebraska-Omaha and Colorado School of Mines.

VALLEY HIGH: A four-time all-Patriot League selection at Valley High School, from which she graduated from in 2005...Set four individual school records...Finished in the top 16 at state as a 2003 sophomore, 2004 junior and a 2005 senior...Vikings were Patriot League champions as a 2004 junior and a 2005 senior...Coached by Lynn Painter...Also lettered three seasons in cross country and two seasons in track.

PERSONAL: Born May 1, 1987, to Robert and Robin Lind...Has two brothers, Eric and Paul...Majoring in chemistry at Metro State and would like to teach high school science after graduation
