CSU baseball wins NCBA World Series

The Colorado State University Rams Baseball team won the NCBA (National Club Baseball Association) World Series defeating Penn State 5-1 in the final. CSU also defeated Oregon (twice), Baylor and Central Michigan. The tournament was held in Ft. Myers, FL - home of the Boston Red Sox spring training. This is the 4th time in the last 5 years that CSU won the NCBA World Series.

Head coach Mike Abernathy lead the Rams along with assistants Thomas Ahrens and David Schultz. The team has many previous Colorado High School stars including Josh Ary (Canon City), Jake Billadeau (Ft. Collins), Caleb Bond (Littleton), Dustin Case (Northglenn), Wes Castle (Regis), Brian Chuckran (Cherry Creek), Brian Dilley (Pine Creek), John Fink (Columbine), Jake Fox (Cherry Creek), Hunter Haggerty (Chaparral), Sam Hayes (Custer County), Wesley Jeanette (Fairview), Brian Jenkins (Ft. Collins), Tommy Johnson (Mullen), Mathew Kurtz (Thompson Valley), Bobby Moller (Highlands Ranch), Zac Myslivy (Smoky Hill), Jared Osif (Green Mountain), Mike Petrelli (Littleton), Reggi Rossi (Mullen), Nick Stringari (Canon City) and Eric Zaruba (Skyline).
