Jeffco "Snowball" tournament
Contributed by: David Harvey on 1/13/2008

Bear Creek hosted the Snowball Basketball Tournament for Jefferson County the week of 1/9/08 through 9/12/08. On Monday 1/7/08 the boys Varsity from Columbine came to Bear Creek, a stormy night with travel on Kipling difficult, this matched the kind of night the Bear Creek Boy's Varsity would have with the Rebels. The Rebels handed the Bear a defeat to the tune of 65 to 56 in favor of Columbine.

The Lady Bears played Chatfield in the second game of the night.
Thee Bear Creek ladies fought all the way through but the Chargers were just that little bit better. Loosing their match to the Lady Rebels 46 to 53 in favor of Chatfield.

On Thursday 1/10/08 Conifer came down the mountain to play in the "Cave" of Bear Creek, much to the dismay of the "Bears". The game went back and forth with Conifer coming away with the victory, 63 to the Bears 50. That same night Evergreen also traveled to the "Cave" and this game was tight all the way through. The game had to be decided in triple overtime. The Evergreen Ladies finally won out 53 to 52; this kept not only the teams and coaches on the edge of their seats but the fans as well. All the games of this tournament were exciting to watch and evenly matched in talent and ability.
