South Suburban Parks and Recreation in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association will host a Hershey Track & Field Meet on Friday, June 8, at Euclid Middle School track, 777 W Euclid Ave. in Littleton. This free meet is a great way for youth, ages 9-14, to try track and field events without long-term commitments, participating in up to three events of their choice. The meet offers running events like the 50-meter dash and the 800-meter run, plus field events like the softball throw and the long jump. Registration begins at 8:45 am and a photocopy of child's birth certificate is required at the time of registration. Age as of December 31, 2007 determines eligibility.
Hershey's Track & Field Program was created over 30 years ago to promote youth physical fitness. It's the largest and longest operating grassroots program coordinated by the recreation and parks profession fostering active recreation and sport participation among youth. Track & field meets take place in every state and province in North America. Winners can advance to the State Hershey Meet and hundreds of athletes make it to the grand finale, the North American Final in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Participants can discover their potential, make new friends, and gain newfound self-confidence. Every child is a winner with Hershey's track and field! For more information on the program please call 303-798-7515 or visit
