Jean size - It does matter
Contributed by: Sandy Clifton   on 12/26/2006

I have written one or two blogs about needing to lose weight. Since I recently became lactose intolerant it has been flying off. I never thought I would be so happy about something that makes me so sick when I eat lactose-containing items.

Today:

I went to Old Navy to look at tops but ended up pulling several boot cut jeans into the dressing room. I first put on the size 14 jeans, which was the size I was before I found out I was lactose intolerant. Way too big, so I tried the 12s on, still too big. Next came the 10s "No" I thought "there is no way my fat butt can fit into a 10." Sure enough I slid them over my thighs and they came on. I didn't have to suck in or hold my breath to zip either. They fit like if I lost another 5 pounds I would definitely have to go a smaller size! So needless to say, I have purchased my first pair of size 10 jeans in over 4 years! Can you believe that.

I was so thrilled about the fact that I could wear them that I ended up throwing open my door to the dressing room and startling the poor girl at the counter. I excitedly told her about my recent weight loss. I wanted to yell "I'm a 10!" On my way home I called my husband to half yell and scream that I am into a size 10. He teased me by saying that maybe they mislabeled the size. HA I am so ecstatic about this it's unreal. I have about one more size to go before the modeling agency I went to a few weeks ago will take me. Wish me luck!

Modeling world here I come!

I hate to admit this, Sandy, but I'm confused. Are you eating the dairy to get to a size 10?

John- thanks ha ok will do. You should try cutting some dairy out... its working for me. :-) Karin - I can do both I hope. I love taking photos and I don't think I will ever stop trying to succeed in the art world but in the mean time modeling will be extra income which I really need. :-)

You certainly could be a model if you want, but I'd rather see you taking their photographs. Come on, wouldn't you rather be Richard Avedon than Naomi Campbell?

You do of course realize that when you become a model (there's no if about it), you must post some of your photos. I'm so happy for you! I, on the other hand, have been going up in jean size. I used to fit into a 34 and now I can barely wedge myself into a 36, despite working out and eating healthier. I love life.
