WOMAN'S ELECTION SIGN DEFACED
At about 10 a.m. April 29, officers responded to a residence on the 9300 block of Miles Drive on a report of criminal mischief. A 62-year-old woman said someone spray painted a sign attached to her deck. The sign displayed opposition to amendments 2B and 2C in the May 6 municipal election. The words "b***h" and "blood" were painted on the sign with black spray paint. The woman said she had an altercation with some members of a committee who supported the amendments, and she thinks one of them may have defaced her sign.

TEENS CITED FOR POSSESSION
At about 10 p.m. April 28, an officer pulled up behind a suspicious looking vehicle parked on the dirt shoulder of Crooked Stick Trail in the area of Bluffs Regional Park. The officer deemed the car suspicious due to high incidents of theft and vandalism at construction sites in the area. The officer contacted two juvenile boys in the vehicle who stated they weren't doing anything wrong. The officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver's eyes also appeared to be bloodshot and watery. A search of the vehicle revealed a glass smoking pipe and a baggie of marijuana. The juveniles were issued summonses for possession of marijuana and released to their parents.
