CAR NOT BEST PLACE TO ARGUE
A couple had a heated argument in a moving vehicle. On Feb. 25 at about 1:45 a.m., police found a yellow car sitting off the side of the road on the 7300 block of Lincoln Avenue and asked the occupants what was going on. "Here's what happened," the 23-year-old boyfriend said. "She was driving down this road, OK? And I wanted to go back home and she wouldn't, OK? So we're driving here and, all of the sudden, I swing the driver's wheel across the road. I was in the passenger seat and I swing it over and she swung over on this side and crashed." The boyfriend also said he and his 24-year-old girlfriend have a child together, but their relationship hadn't been going well the last six months. The boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment and domestic violence.
WOMAN BLAMES HUSBAND FOR ALCOHOL SMELL
On March 17 at about 2:20 a.m., an officer observed a black BMW driving through the 9500 block of Park Meadows Drive at a high rate of speed while failing to stay in a single lane. Upon contact, the officer observed that the 33-year-old woman behind the wheel had bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol was wafting out of the vehicle. The woman told the officer that what he smelled was her intoxicated 34-year-old husband, who was with her in the car. After the husband was released on scene to a responsible party, the officer asked the woman to perform a roadside sobriety test and an alcohol breath test, both of which she failed. The woman also had a suspended driver's license out of Florida, so the woman was taken to detox and released on a summons for failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license.
FIGHT AT THE FOOD COURT!
An officer was dispatched to Park Meadows Mall, located at 8401 Park Meadows Center Drive, at about 5 p.m. March 27 on a report of a possible fight between two women outside of the food court. The officer spoke with a 24-year-old woman who stated she was walking outside the mall with her sister to meet her fiancé when she noticed two women standing beside his car. She told police that when she approached the women, one of them said, "What are you looking at (expletive)? You have a problem?" The 24-year-old woman responded by saying, "What is your problem? Why are you talking to me this way?" A physical altercation then ensued, according to police. The 24-year-old told police the women started pushing her, and that she blacked out. A 21-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man allegedly broke up the fight. The 21-year-old woman who allegedly initiated the fight was arrested and later released.
MAN PEES ON WALL OUSTIDE BOWLING ALLEY
On March 30 at 12:39 a.m., police confronted two men about public urination outside Brunswick Zone, located at 9225 Kimmer Drive. An employee allegedly saw a man urinate against a wall of the bowling alley, and police observed wet spots on the wall and sidewalk, the report stated. The two men, one of whom was 22 years old with a shaved head, were smoking near the wall and reportedly said they didn't know anything about it. The employee told police it was the bald man who urinated, according to the report. The 22-year-old reportedly said he had to go so bad he couldn't wait to use the restroom inside. The man was issued a summons for public urination.
MAN DRINKS MARTINI OUT OF GATORADE BOTTLE
On April 1 at 4:04 p.m., an officer responded to an intoxicated subject call at The Great Outdoors, located at 8585 S. Yosemite St. The loss prevention agent reportedly said he suspected four minors in the store were under the influence. One of the people in particular was acting disorderly, the report stated, but no details were given. After contacting the group in a car in the parking lot, police discovered that an 18-year-old man had been drinking a martini out of a Gatorade bottle and also possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the report stated. The man was taken into custody for violating a protection order that stated he couldn't consume or possess alcohol or controlled substances.
WOMAN FINDS NAUGHTY NOTE ON CAR
Police responded to Kohl's, located at 8660 S. Quebec St., on a report of harassment at about 6 p.m. May 8. Police spoke to a 38-year-old Littleton woman who told them as she was leaving the store she saw a former friend, a 26-year-old Highlands Ranch woman, putting a note on her car, which contained an expletive. The 38-year-old told police someone had accused her of going out with the 26-year-old's boyfriend two months ago, and the 26-year-old allegedly had been harassing her via text messages prior to May 8. Police said they contacted the 26-year-old and she had an alibi that checked out. Police said they issued both women a warning that they need to stop communicating with each other.
MAN EXPOSES SELF IN RESTROOM
Police responded to Park Meadows shopping center, 8401 Park Meadows Center Drive, at about 7:30 p.m. May 12 on a report of a 36-year-old Centennial man who allegedly exposed himself to two other men inside the men's restroom. Police said the man told them he was not legally living in the United States. He was arrested and transported to Douglas County Jail on suspicion of indecent exposure and violating immigration laws.
OFFICER SAVES DROWNING BOY
While on patrol at an apartment complex on the 10000 block of Park Meadows Drive at about 5:30 p.m. May 27, an officer said he heard a woman scream for help. The woman has screaming, "Help my boy, he is drowning!" police said. The child, whose age was not provided, was pulled from the swimming pool and did not have a pulse, police said. The officer said he began CPR on him. After three attempts, the boy was resuscitated and transported to Sky Ridge Medical Center for treatment, police said. He was treated for water in the lungs and has since been released. Police said no charges are being pursued in this incident.
MAN BELLIGERENT TO MEDICAL STAFF
Police were dispatched to Sky Ridge Medical Center, 10101 Ridgegate Parkway, at about 12:30 a.m. July 18 on a report of an out-of-control man in the emergency room. Police said they could here the 44-year-old Westminster man yelling very loudly from his room. Staff told police the man threatened them several times, stating that he would hit them if he did not get the care he needed. According to police, the man said, "This is (expletive) that I am not getting the help that I need." He said he would hurt someone if he was not cared for properly, police said. According to a report, the man threatened to hit one of the officers and was transported to Douglas County Jail. Police did not disclose the man's medical condition.
MAN CUSSES OUT COPS
Police responded to Fox and Hound bar, 9239 Park Meadows Drive, at about 1 a.m. Dec. 3 on a report of a man trying to push his way back into the restaurant after being escorted out. The 22-year-old Denver man became verbally abusive toward the officers. He smelled of alcohol and appeared to be intoxicated. He pushed the officers, and the officers handcuffed him. He told one of the officers to (expletive) himself and spouted other obscenities. He also told one of the officers he was going to take his gun and shoot the officer in the head. He was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, third-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
