With more people having to choose between filling up their gas tanks or their stomachs, there is an increase in the number of working, middle-class families turning to food banks this summer. Panera Bread is working with Colorado food banks to help support the fight against hunger in conjunction with the launch of the new Grilled Breakfast Sandwich offering.

On Saturday, June 21, Panera introduced their new breakfast sandwich to Colorado. Made by bakers, not by microwaves, the new Grilled Breakfast Sandwich represents a new day in breakfast sandwiches.

From now through June 29 to celebrate the addition to the breakfast menu, any Panera Bread customers bringing in a non-perishable breakfast food item to be donated to local food banks will receive a free breakfast sandwich.
