teaching about connections with the natural world
Contributed by: phil waltz on 8/27/2007

We work hard throughout the year teaching school and scouts groups and individuals and families about connections within the natural world around us. We also strive to preserve and protect the natural resources for which we're responsible as part of South Suburban Parks and Recreation. We certainly don't have the highest paying careers, but we all feel that we provide an important and valuable community service. We're outside throughout the year in scorching heat, and chilling rain and snow taking kids on walks along through the park, searching for bugs in the river, controlling weeds, and rebuilding trails, among many other things. A fun group eventlike a suite at a Rockies game would be a rewarding outing for the great group of education and natural resource staff based here at the Carson Nature Center and South Platte Park in Littleton. www.sspr.org/nature
