Catherine Chaput
has been teaching elementary students for twenty five years and loves every minute of it and it shows!
She teaches fourth grade students on B track at Eagle Ridge Elementary in Lone Tree. She meets the students each day with a big smile and an optimistic kindhearted attitude. She has really gone out of her way to deal with the boys in her class (15 of them) as they are a competitive, sports-oriented go getter bunch.
She has focused on teaching the boys to respect each others differences and strengths, show compassion and kindness to one another and to work as a team.
She used the film
Remember the Titans
as a tool to work with the boys on coming together as a team. Her compassion shows as she deals with challenges head-on.
Perhaps the biggest compliment of her teaching ability comes from her old students, who continue to drop by her class on an almost daily basis to visit with her and reflect on the past. I have met so many of her previous students in her classroom this year. She is a top notch teacher who's passion and love for learning shows in everything she does in the classroom.
p.s. She is a HUGE fan of Starbucks!

Linda, great to see you post on YourHub. My kids never had Mrs. Chaput, but Eagle Ridge parents always speak highly of her.

Linda, thanks a lot for telling us a little about Catherine. It's great to know we have such good teachers in Lone Tree. Would it be possible to post a photo of Catherine on this story? Thanks again, Linda. We hope to see more from you. Welcome to YourHub.com.
