Loving Frank by Nancy Horan

Carefully selecting a ten year slice from the seven decade career of renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, author Nancy Horan spins a historical tale that leaves the reader yearning for more.

Set in the Oak Park neighborhood of Chicago, the story starts as Wright is gaining recognition as a modern home architect when he begins an affair with Mamah Borthwick Cheney, one of his clients

Through Cheney's voice, the reader discovers many facets of the man who is amazing, arrogant, charming, gifted, unconventional and confrontational. Their relationship confirms his need for the backing of a strong woman and his zest for life. Horan provides much detail, but leaves conclusions to the reader.

Because the book is accurate historical fiction, the terrifying ending has added impact.
