Blog Entry 7 of 20 LTC performs for more than 50 years

World Premiere

Thursday night (3/20 and 3/21) and Friday night are staged readings of the now produced "Suspenders" a locally written and produced musical. It will be at the Longmont Theatre and it starts at 7pm.
A staged reading is just that, where the actors read/sing thier parts in character and there is no 'acting' going on.
This is done to get feed back from other directors and other attendees to see if there are changes that need to be made.
It truly is a curious thing to be involved in, I once again am a producer. Producing a show that has never been done before is a little more tricky and takes more time and needs to be marketed in a different way.
These two performances will be the trial run of the show and it's content before it opens on May 23, which there may be a BIG surprise that night...stay tuned.
One really great thing about a staged reading is that it is free. And the show tickets that are now available at www.longmonttheatre.org are only $10. Can't beat that! Life in a retirement home can't get much better.
