Warren Miller to make rare appearance at benefit
Contributed by: Brendan Leonard/YourHub.com   on 1/24/2008

For $10 on Feb. 21, 700 people will get to help raise money for Altona Middle School, see a private showing of the new Warren Miller film Playground, and get a 2-for-1 ticket to Winter Park, Copper Mountain and Steamboat.

Oh yeah, and Warren Miller is going to be there. In person.

It's his first public appearance in the Boulder area in years. What's a man who's spent his life documenting the world's best skiers and snowboarders all over the world doing at a middle school benefit? His grandson, Ryan Miller, attends Altona. The school is looking to raise money for six new lightware sets for the math teachers, in line with new math curriculum. Beats the heck out of a bake sale, huh?
"I think it's fantastic that my father would do something like that for his grandkids," says Kurt Miller, Ryan's dad.

Only 700 tickets will be available, and seating is limited. Tickets go on sale Jan. 25. For more information, call 720-494-3980.
