Going Dark

Did you turn out the lights?

Across the country, time zone by time zone the lights went out. It was a conscience action and part of a movement that started last year in Australia to highlight the threat of climate change. Tonight at 8-9 pm the lights in my house went out.

I agree. I read about people blogging by flashlight - seems to defeat the purpose. I decided to sit in silence (we do we EVER get to do that?) and ponder my next YOURHUB blog posting. Thanks for writing - Marge

The folks I spoke to who turned their lights out were still watching tv, using their microwaves, running their washers and driers and their refrigerators. I don't see the energy cost savings in that, but it's America, God Bless us.
