Blog Entry 7 of 17 Queen of my Universe
Live it, be it, dream it.

We did it at the DUMP!
Contributed by: M.K. Mercurio   on 4/7/2008

The wind blew, the people came, the dumpsters filled, it was THE happening place to be ...

And as promised the Rotary Club of Mead collected over a dozen sets of crutches, 2 wheelchairs and 6 canes for the Crutches4Africa campaign! It was amazing tosee all the implements paired up and ready to haul. You should be proud of yourselves for sharing the way you do. It's not too late to recycle your old crutches and such ...If you have some crutches that you want to add to the collection, send me an email at mk_mercurio@yahoo.com.

In addition to collecting Crutches4Africa, and money and canned food for the Mead Food Bank, the Rotary Club of Mead handed out surveys to poll local residents about their recycling habits. The results of the survey will help determine recycling habits andways to reuse, recycle and renew our waste.

This collaborative event included Mead town employees (what a bunch of nice guys!) , lots of Rotary members, and cute little David S.- a local boy scout who earned service credit by helping out in a thousand different ways (Thanks David!).

Who says you can't do it at the dump?
