Dooty and Honor
My take on the political scene, spiced with bits of life-as-it-happens. I'll try and separate the fertilizer from the facts, at least as I see it. Coming from the perspective of a not-so-average guy with little or no respect for sacred cows, moose or squirrels. A master debater and wielder of a needle-sharp wit guaranteed to pop the toughest gasbag. Count on seeing people you know and love lampooned and harpooned with impunity and puns galore. No one will be spared, that's a promise. (Note: this blog not recommended for the humor-impaired and you know who you is.)

In the past couple of years I've found there are some folks out there that make Rumplestiltskin's foot-stomping rage look mild by comparison. Normally these folks find their way into road rage-inspired car accidents, bizarre behavior involving holiday decorations or even something as sad as blackmarking to censor their opponents.
I guess one of the 'trickle down' effects from the Bush Administration is creating a whole new breed of wannabe toughs. "Bring em on!" clearly got someone's blood up... or maybe it was that third steak at breakfast...
Since FISA has passed and effectively given the Watergate criminals (including their jowly chieftain Richard
"Tricky Dick"
Nixon) retroactive immunity, I suppose all the gloves are off now. I can understand their feeling that the quote:
"cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!"
is speaking to them personally. Although I suspect it's just
one
of the
many
voices they hear.

Well Billy, you're right, he got pardoned - exactly like Scooter Libby. So how is THAT making us a nation of laws?

So . . . Nixon now has immunity, from what? He was pardoned. There's no "there, there." You're ranting, Doug. Your point could be well-taken, but you've taken the wrong approach. Give us facts. I'm more than willing to listen. I love an intelligent disagreement. Give us something to go with here . . .

Nixon never had the brass balls to try anything like this. He was a punk compared to this mob of killer klowns.

To retroactively give immunity at the level given in the FISA bill to law breakers is in essence the dismantling of the rule of law. This is one of the saddest occurrences in the history of our Republic, not to even mention the Democracy.

Y'know, it's endlessly hilarious to me that someone is marking my OWN comments on my OWN posts as 'objectionable.' Well, I guess to most folks on the LF anything I say is 'objectionable.' Poor lil fellers are just tweakin nonstop.
