Blog Entry 164 of 178 The Subversive Liberal
"If by a "liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "liberal." – President John F. Kennedy...................... Some people find me and that sentiment subversive. I'm here to set the record straight and offer the real typical liberal point of view. Some call it subversive, I call it patriotic.

Limbaugh in his own words.
Contributed by: Bing Van Gorden   on 4/26/2008

"We want this to go on! We want the superdelegates to have [to] make this decision, not the voters in the Democrat Party. This is about chaos. This is why it's called Operation Chaos! It's not called Operation Save Hillary. It's not called Operation Nominate Obama. It's called Operation Chaos! The dream end... I mean, if people say what's your exit strategery, the dream end of this is that this keeps up to the convention and that we have a replay of Chicago 1968, with burning cars, protests, fires, literal riots, and all of that. That's the objective here."
Rush Limbaugh
on his radio show 4.24.08

That's the objective of Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos. Riots in Denver. In his own words.

He is back peddling now. Saying he was dreaming of riots not inciting them. That's not what he said though. Look up above. Even his loyal listeners out there known as dittoheads (because they simply parrot the "pearls of wisdom" from the swine) turned on him and told him he'd gone over the line. Too which he began singing "I'm dreaming of riots in Denver" to the tune of "White Christmas."

Federal law states,
"Inciting a riot applies to a person who organizes, encourages, or participates in a riot. It can apply to one who urges or instigates others to riot. It does not apply to someone who merely advocates ideas or expresses beliefs, if those ideas and beliefs do not involve advocating violence."

It's no surprise that some of his beloved dittoheads are claiming he was merely, you know, talking about how great it would be if Democrats slit their own throats and had riots. He did say that. But he also is instigating his Operation Chaos he's so proud of to fulfill it's objective. He claims he's manipulated these people to switch their party affiliations so they can go vote for Hillary Clinton in the primaries. For no other reason but to prolong the fight. Getting people to vote is hard enough. Getting them to go to the trouble of re-registering party affiliation is freakin' miracle in itself. It only takes one guy to toss a rock at the right time to create a riot situation. If Rush cared about history, he'd know it was our government that instigated the riots in 1968. He continues to blame that squarely on the shoulders of liberals.

Rush Limbaugh has said a lot inflammatory things. Some rooted in absolute fantasy. His listeners believe him. Many get their news solely through him, as he suggests they ignore the rest of the media. He's like a cult figure really. His followers trust him implicitly. They won't hear of another point of view, to the point of a paranoia that everyone is trying to trick them. And the message of Rush is as devious as it is shallow of the truth. He rails against liberals like Hitler railed against Jews and McCarthy against communists. Instead of political power, he has a radio show that reaches millions including our troops on Armed Forces Radio. He tells people all about us "libs" so he can control their perception of them. And he's been good at it. He can tap into irrational fear with the best of them.

Not only is he inciting a riot but he's showing a typical example of his demonization of Democrats. Going so far to suggest that we're so bad, it would be good to see an American city explode into a riot. Whatever excuses people come up with for his latest divisive statements it can't be argued otherwise. Riots are a bad thing, it doesn't matter which side your on. To revel in its possibility is repugnant. But to encourage it coming about is a felony of up to 5 years in prison and a fine. If a progressive radio host had said this about the Republican Convention, Rush and his dittoheads would be all over it. There would be Republicans in congress demanding an apology, possibly criminal proceedings, and there would no doubt be conservative Democrats capitulating like little weasels. Joe Lieberman would be so outraged he'd take another opportunity to swipe at his former party's being hi-jacked by radicals on the left. Let the FCC know that this can't be tolerated. Go to, www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html to file a complaint.

Next I'll write about the double standards applied to liberal and conservative speech.

Limbaugh may not be the 800-pound-gorilla he used to be, but he's still mighty influential. When I first heard him I dismissed him - "no one could take this buffoon seriously," but a great many people hang on his every word. You ignore him at your peril.

I think Rush said it best himself: "Compassion is no substitute for justice" So... how did he NOT do time for this? Apparently there's different 'justice' for folks like him and we 'little people'. http://tinyurl.com/4erk3c Gods. Why would ANYONE want see this man as a role model?

I used to think Rush was an entertainer. Unfortunately too many people actually take him seriously, and for good reason, much of the time he sounds serious. Down right hateful. He likes to hide behind the label when he goes too far but he certainly takes himself seriously when he's trying to inspire his listeners with animosity towards those who disagree. He's a Christo-fascist, if you will like Ann Coulter.

I find Rush to be amusing as an entertainer, but I don't take him too seriously.
