Blog Entry 2 of 6 Dooty and Honor
My take on the political scene, spiced with bits of life-as-it-happens. I'll try and separate the fertilizer from the facts, at least as I see it. Coming from the perspective of a not-so-average guy with little or no respect for sacred cows, moose or squirrels. A master debater and wielder of a needle-sharp wit guaranteed to pop the toughest gasbag. Count on seeing people you know and love lampooned and harpooned with impunity and puns galore. No one will be spared, that's a promise. (Note: this blog not recommended for the humor-impaired and you know who you is.)

The Weight of Secrets
Contributed by: Doug Wray   on 4/27/2008

It's funny how secrets just don't stay secret.

Like a stone buried in a hillside, bit by bit the rains wash away the dirt, slowly revealing it, working it loose until it finally comes free and rolls down into plain sight.

Like 'lost' emails, addictions, hidden agendas and anonymousblogs, sooner or later the truth comes out.

Funny, isn't it?

Good question! I'm thinking about that. So... do you know who it is?

Hehehe, and THEN what are you going to do? Let's say this guy (or gal?) comes up to you at a CC meeting, you'll...(fill in the blank). Describe your reality of seeing that- machine gun is it? I couldn't really tell, but ironic you see that and a church choir, hmmm. Are you implying that site condones violence on churchgoers? Ah, that site can't be too bad as, I say again, you've taken to that nickname they gave you. Well, at least you have a new hobby. It's good to diversify and not be a one trick pony.

Sorry Chris, until I know who's running LongmontReport, I'm not giving up. I think the reality of showing a machine gun pointed at a choir is pretty clear.

Doug, seriously, you're little cryptic hints make sense to probably no one but yourself. Yeah, it's a freudian slip for ME to say fishing and YOU to reference Moby Dick - hmm, lets try to play out this stretch of yours, oh, I get it, I'm 4C and I'm doing the open records request, is that it? That's pretty clever, but in the way Spinal Tap put it: "it's a fine line between clever and stupid." Give it a rest already, society isnt made up of Freudian-slippers as much as you'd like to think, jeez, unless of course you speak from a whole lot of experience at it yourself. We don't all have that problem. And it's not "another" when there wasnt one in the first place, btw. Allow me to "shephard" (like that? ;) ) you back to reality.

Happy fishing indeed Chris - funny you mention 'fishing' (another Freudian thing?) - the current deep-sea trolling from LifeBridge 4C looks like Ahab going after the Great White Whale* and we all KNOW what happened to him. Call me Ishmael. (* no, I'm not referring to myself, though the comparison is no doubt inevitable to some)

David, I agree, if by "what WORKS" you mean what destroys everything it touches? Surplus to deficit, alliances into anger, an once-proud army on the verge of collapse, an economy sliding into a black hole of debt and bankruptcy. Heckuva job, Bushie!

Hey Bing, it's "pejorative" not perjorative. What, are you taking spelling lessons from Sean McCoy? As an example, try "PC-paralyzed lefty commie socialist" (nothing personal, mind you). My hero Rush Limbaugh has taught me and 20 million listeners that conservatism is about what WORKS; not driven by idealogy, not some impractical utopian vision.

I hear you on the labels. What do they mean anyway? The only reason I am so adamant about lettgin ti be known that I'm a liberal is that I think the label has been wharped and I want to help re-define it back to what I believe it is. But really, it's not like we have a handbook we all adhere to or something.

Self-labeling is limiting. I have problems with types that hang out on the edge of both sides of the spectrum. At a recent CC meeting I was getting peppered with questions from one of our more vocal citizens when he declared "you're not a conservative, you're a libertarian!" Don't think I ever said I was either or something else, and it just doesn't rate high on my 'give a sh*t-o meter". That's why local stuff interests me more, it's SUPPOSED to be non-partisan, well, you see how that's gone lately. Thanks for the props! I like propellers.
