Blog Entry 180 of 208 The Subversive Liberal
"If by a "liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "liberal." – President John F. Kennedy...................... Some people find me and that sentiment subversive. I'm here to set the record straight and offer the real typical liberal point of view. Some call it subversive, I call it patriotic.

David Brown and others....
Contributed by: Bing Van Gorden   on 7/28/2008

To David and other rightes who are interested. If you want to debate the issues, just send me an email and I'll gladly do it. Mr. Brown has taken a couple of shots with typical right wing paranoia, apparently he's been taught that liberals want the goverment to control everything and we're emotional and not factual. I disagree and would love nothing more than to correct some of these common and inaccurate assumptions that come from the right. I may get emotional from time to time, but it's because I know the facts. Anyone that's spent time reading my posts would know these assumptions are flat out false. They are excuses to justify the irrational opinions the right has. Like Mike Rosen who believes liberals must have a mental disorder because we're sooooooo irrational. One thing I can't stand is being told what I think and how I came to those conclusions, so some blow hard coward like Rosen can get his idot audience something to be mad about. Oh, if they only knew how absolutely foolish they look to more reasonable people. So come on David, come on anyone on the right, I challenge you to a duel of intellect. What are you afraid of? Discovering something that just might blow your preconceptions. I can't blame righties. They are fed a constant stream of BS from their talk show hosts and pundits who are too afraid to actually debate the issues. It's easy to say the other guy is an idiot when they don't offer a forum.

Part 3 for David, re:paranoid shots you've taken. I pointed out one of them, that liberals want gvmnt to control everything. Another would be that we are too timid to admit that. The reality is, we don't want gvmnt to control eveything so there is no need to admit it. I am guessing you don't believe me. When a flesh and blood liberal tells you that's no tthe case and you still cling to the myth you've been told by your pals like Rosen, that's a classic example of paranoia. It's insinuating that liberals have a hidden agenda with sinister intent. That's pure B.S.

2nd David, Hate sites like HuffPo and Kos, a laughable suggestion. Provide one example of hate from either site. I have little desire to insult you but I will give it right back to you. You make a lot of assumptions and like to lump people into t "us" and "them." if you spend a little time reading these boards you'll see the left is a large group that rarely agrees on everything. I applaud your iterest in debate and I think you will find some of your assumptions are innaccurate and that we probably agree on many issues.

1st, David, you made empty charges I responded to them. I find it amazing that you knew my emotional state when I wrote this post. I still don't follow your logic on how "we" will lose an argument about oil. If gas prices are high, I think you have a tougher row to hoe, regardless, I'll wipe the floor with you.
