Blog Entry 19 of 35 Dooty and Honor
My take on the political scene, spiced with bits of life-as-it-happens. I'll try and separate the fertilizer from the facts, at least as I see it. Coming from the perspective of a not-so-average guy with little or no respect for sacred cows, moose or squirrels. A master debater and wielder of a needle-sharp wit guaranteed to pop the toughest gasbag. Count on seeing people you know and love lampooned and harpooned with impunity and puns galore. No one will be spared, that's a promise. (Note: this blog not recommended for the humor-impaired and you know who you is.)

Yes We CAN

Holy cow, what a fantastic acceptance speech.

Makes me remember when we had a real President.

I can only imagine the reaction in some quarters - but, judging from the commentary at other spots on the web, the sales of laundry detergent will spike sharply tomorrow - along with stain remover.

The miles-away-heard roars no doubt sent a clear message to the 'War Room' and the self-identified 'Ministry of Truth' - time's running out, start packing.

It was a great speech. I couldn't believe it. The Party grew a spine.

It's so wonderful having my own personal trolls. It's like Lord of the Rings but much lower budget.

You need help Doug so I'll explain it to you. THE SUBJECT of your own post, since you obviously need reminding, was how good Obama's speech was. I agreed. I then attempted to qualify my statement with other great speeches I've heard, especially Reagan's Challenger speech. But thank you, OH SO MUCH for your gratuitous input of your crackpot conspiracy theories on the real story of the Challenger. Gee, what would we do without you?

Huh? I made several points over two long comment entries, so I have no idea which kettle you're referring to, unless this is another racial thing?

Challenger should have been avoided - whistleblowers tried to warn of the booster o-ring leak problem, but the administration squelched the reports (with the eager head-nodding of Martin Marietta). Those astronauts were murdered, plain and simple - but what's a little more blood on the LF's hands, right? It washes off.

Nice Dave, invoke 9-11. I wonder how long till it gets included in the pledge right after '...under God.' and 'terrist, terrist, terrist.' :-D

I also appreciated it. I like to hear a good speaker. (I don't want to criticize the speech here.) With the exception of Bush's post 9-11 speech, the one he gave on the Thursday following 9-11, I'm not sure I've heard one to remember since Ronald Reagan. My favorite was the Challenger speech.
