Blog Entry 204 of 208 The Subversive Liberal
"If by a "liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "liberal." – President John F. Kennedy...................... Some people find me and that sentiment subversive. I'm here to set the record straight and offer the real typical liberal point of view. Some call it subversive, I call it patriotic.

Shameful Republican leadership

Bush's White House says yes to 700 billion with no strings attached to Wall St. but balk at 58 million for food stamps and unemployment benefits.

Can some one tell me how they support this party? Can someone explain to me how it's ok to throw billions of tax dollars at millionaires who should be in jail but not offer any help to people who can't afford food?

What a fantastic bunch of hood winkers to actually fool their constituents that they give a rat's behinds for anyone in the bottom 95% of wage earners. Apparently they have to lose their house or their job before they realize there's a problem. Shameful.

This country was founded by radical liberals with a radical liberal agenda. Yes, they are the true patriots. Read a book Mick. Your just as naive about socialism and our history as the right wing whackos we just saved this country from. You wouldn't know socialism if it bit you on your arse.

True Liberals are the biggest patriots of all -- they are open to new ideas, and do not rigidly react to new information and developments. It has NOTHING to do with tax and spend as the Rush Limbaughs of the right would have the people believe.

The Republican party has been hijacked by the extreme Religious Right and the Big Tax and Spenders like GW Bush. They really should be calling themselves the Socialistic Republican Party, seeing that every Republican president since Reagan has caputalated our national deficit to record high levels.

No Mick, I didn't invite people to hurl childish insults out of the blue. Frankly I don't care if I change opinions. I post to simply offer my opinions.

Who invited this guy? My feelings are really hurt. Civility is for tea parties and the British Parliament.

Children, go to your rooms and don't come out until you can talk civilly to each other. Is this what they mean by the polarization of political debate? Maybe "brutalization" would be a better term.
