Just another web consultant whose boss is a complete slave driver. But I take my revenge by reading - a lot - when he's not looking. I believe in the role of government to help improve society, but I'm fully aware of the dangers of entrenched bureacracy and the how money corrupts. I'm not so much a liberal as I am appalled by what passes for modern conservatism. And as the pendulum swings back and the left finds its voice and strength again, I'm ready to damn its excesses. Sex, Drugs and Politics

This story has everything! Sex, drugs, politics, and a moral! You don't get that often these days. And - trust me - it has a Denver angle.

" He met her in the bar of the swank hotel and invited her to his room. Once there, the woman fixed the drinks and told him to get undressed." What a lede! That's the kind of stuff most newspaper reporters never get to write.

That's where our hero got slipped a mickey. When he woke up, the woman was gone, along with "more than $120,000 in money, jewelry and other belongings." For some reason the man had been traveling with "a $30,000 watch, a $20,000 ring, a necklace valued at $5,000, earrings priced at $4,000 and a Prada belt valued at $1,000."

So why do we care? For one thing, this all took place at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis on Sept. 4, mere hours after Sarah Palin gave her historic acceptance speech. The victim was a delegate to the convention: Gabriel Nathan Schwartz, 29, of Denver, a single attorney and a "fixture in Colorado Republican politics." The whole story is here.

You can see a video of the estimable Mr. Schwartz on the convention floor here, wearing some kind of disco/western shirt and a spaced-out smirk while calling for "less taxes and more war."

The GOP certainly does attract the best people, doesn't it? And ladies take note - he's available!

oooo single, young and obviously wealthy - too bad he doesn't have any brains. Hope he got some entertainment for all his losses. If I were him I would go and get an HIV test soon.
