Blog Entry 4 of 208 The Subversive Liberal
"If by a "liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "liberal." – President John F. Kennedy...................... Some people find me and that sentiment subversive. I'm here to set the record straight and offer the real typical liberal point of view. Some call it subversive, I call it patriotic.

Mr. Cheney, why don't you BYU yourself?
Contributed by: Bing Van Gorden   on 4/4/2007

Conservative Brigham Young University students and alumni are urging the university to tell Vice President Dick Cheney that he doesn't measure up to their heavy emphasis on personal honesty and integrity and they do not want him to come to their graduation later this year. Specifically they don't approve of his lying about getting into Iraq. Some conservatives just can't accept that but thankfully these young conservatives do. They are also upset over his involvement in outing Valerie Plame. *gasp* They must be brainwashed by the same radical left wing media sources as I am. Those being CSPAN and sworn testimony to a congressional committee and other direct sources of information. Because there are conservatives here that swear up and down I don't know what I am talking about. Why, Newsmax and others wouldn't lie to them and besides, everyone knows conservatives are so diligent about getting "the facts." Foxnews hasn't been helpful in sorting out these two issues out either. Nor much of the mainstream media that some conservatives abhor. But thank God, there are conservatives out there, at the most un-liberal university no less, who are really paying attention to the facts. There is hope for us after all.

BTW, I wasn't grumpy or angsty. Just multi-tasking. :)

First, the prophet and leadership of the church invited Mr Cheney, and not the University. Secondly, his visit is being largely opposed because it violates the conflict between church and state (politics vs religion). There's really no spin to it.
