A blog for those in pursuit of ALL the truth, ALL the facts, correct perspective, and frankly a place where one can get the side of events and issues that most media (and all liberals frankly) refuse to report.

Democrats vs. National Defense
Contributed by: Steve Mumford   on 12/21/2007

During the last Democrat debate I was standing in front of my TV literally strangling all the candidates that right out of the box were calling for reducing the miltiary and bringing badly needed money to other domestic programs. Once again Democrats are bending over backwards to repeat history. Sen. Biden wants to scrap the new Raptor aircraft slated to replace the aging F-15s that are literally falling apart in the skys, and to scrap missile defense. Nevermind that Iran and N.Korea are actively developing nukes and delivery systems for them. Never mind that all the call for "talking" to them has not worked, nor did it work for the Europeans over the last 3 years.

Nevermind that in the 90s the Defense budget went from 400Billion annually to only 260 Billion and yet the Democrats actually increased the use of our Troops for expansionism. Imagine you trying to make ends meet at your house with a 47% drop in assets and funds much less be required to do more!

The cost of Iraq always gets attention, but we forget that just in the last 10 years Congress has removed over 1 Trillion, 400 Billion in budget alone, not to mention adding diversity quotas to the military on top of reducing manpower by almost half.

Imagine if you will owning a Football team and being required to have 12%Black, 12% Hispanic, 5% Asian or other, and 20% female on your team with the caviot that yours will be the ONLY team required to configure this way... everyone else can have anyone they want.... How do you think you would do? Yet we do this to our own military, and then scratch our heads as to why things are so hard...

Imagine now that you are the new boss (SecDef) and all your employees (Pentagon) report to you mission ready! Full strength! Then you go to war based on that info only to find out that the Pentagon fluffed the numbers! Oh! Well yes we have a hundred bombers... only half can actually fly but we still have them.... No wonder so many disgruntled brass have retired and are mad.. I'd be embarrassed too!

Check your grammar Steve, Democratic is an adjective, in this case descriptive to the noun, debate. It started with Newt Gingrich back in 96. It's a petty tactic to demean. It's not a huge deal but it's simply disrespectful, and again, incredibly petty. And Steve, the Republicans poor planning, spending and privatization of the military has done more damage than anything any Democrat could ever do. Less money can be spent more wisely for a more efficient military. Clinton was actually extending the cuts Dick Cheney began implementing during HW Bush's term. Get it right.

No Bing.. once again you fail to comprehend the context of information. The use of the word Democrat is specifically pointed. Democratic as you put it is NOT the context of this message. Lets just put it simply so you understand: DEMOCRATS are the Defense Departments worst enemy. As to spending: (for the ridiculous talking points on DoD spending) Clinton snatched 47% of the military budget but didn't reduce his use by same and instead increased it in his day! Democrats took the money and put it in their favorite social programs, then expected the Defense of the Nation to fend for itself! 400 Billion to only 260 Billion just 10 years ago! since we used the military at full strength then you owe 1 Trillion,400 Billion in back funding alone!

Alright, I have to ask, when did this become an issue, this whole 'ic' or no 'ic' thing? And why the oversensitivity to it? It's alright to say you're a Democrat but not from the Democrat Party? Totally different from your examples of Reps as those are obvious insults that Reps dont ever call themselves. You forgot Demerhoid and RePubic, btw. And when did the blue/red colors switch? Way back, like in the 70's, many networks used the reverse of what we have now, did someone complain about that too?

I think it's fair to dismiss early on anyone who insists on using "Democrat" instead of the proper Democratic. Just like someone who might write Republikkkan, or Repugnican etc. It's nothing but a petty insult.

Carrie, you have swallowed some serious propaganda. Why do you hate the city council so much and why do you apply the double speak charge? Back it up, what do you mean? Devotion to duty? Don't you mean devotion to ideology?

Steve, Your self-appointed critics are from the new city council majority's Ministry of Truth with their doublespeak: WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY AND IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. These jingles are programmed to tear your devotion to duty down. cast your spirit into confusion and hopelessness to deprive those needing your teachings the opportunity. You teach the upcoming generation with your writings that the American Citizen does not live in a vacuum, but in a world of government, politics, labor, and marriage. Hence your ethical teachings cannot and donot exist in a vacuum. Thank you for your service to our Country and your dedication to a higher purpose than Longmont City Council majority and their fellow travelers aspire for them. Illegitimi Non Carborundum.

So Steve, with all your assumptions on what media the people that disagree with you digest, just what do you use to form your opinions? Opinions that smack more of the daily GOP talking points they send out to their pals like Rush, Anne and all of Foxnews? Just who do you trust to come to your conclusions and why do you assume all of ours are faulty?

Amen to that! I have a recurring daydream where Ike comes back to life and kicks Bush's arse all over the White House lawn. That was a real deal Republican, but by today's standards he'd be vilified as being a communist. Oh how we have strayed.
