Blog Entry 13 of 35 Dooty and Honor
My take on the political scene, spiced with bits of life-as-it-happens. I'll try and separate the fertilizer from the facts, at least as I see it. Coming from the perspective of a not-so-average guy with little or no respect for sacred cows, moose or squirrels. A master debater and wielder of a needle-sharp wit guaranteed to pop the toughest gasbag. Count on seeing people you know and love lampooned and harpooned with impunity and puns galore. No one will be spared, that's a promise. (Note: this blog not recommended for the humor-impaired and you know who you is.)

WSJ on McCain: "He will lose."
Contributed by: Doug Wray   on 8/3/2008

Absolutely fascinating article over at the Wall Street Journal. Yes. Them.

Daniel Henninger points out the latest in a series of monumental gaffes by John "McSame" McCain. Some of them have got to be gut-wrenching for his campaign staff (already stressed to the limit from handling drool buckets and carpet-bombed diapers).

First he says, in front of reporters, "The worst thing you could do is raise people's payroll taxes, my God!" and a few questions later, when asked about fixing Social Security his response was: "everything has to be on the table."

Whatha....???
HUH???

On the subject of Al Gore's assertion that the U.S. could get its energy solely from renewables in 10 years. Sen. McCain said: "If the vice president says it's doable, I believe it's doable."

In a later interview, Mr. McCain said he hadn't read "all the specifics" of the Gore plan and now, "I don't think it's doable without nuclear power."

My god, you can practically hear the puppet strings twanging.

In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, he called Nancy Pelosi an "inspiration to millions of Americans." Something tells me his campaign staff were breaking into the strategic reserve of Depends at that point - for themselves as they beshat their shiny suits. Being this guy's campaign staff should include hazard pay.

Henninger winds up the article with this killer:

"Yes, Sen. McCain has honor and country. Another month of illogical, impolitic remarks and Sen. McCain will erase even that. Absent a coherent message for voters, he will be one-on-one with Barack Obama in the fall. He will lose."

Oh, Doug, you just wish you'd used "rotomontade" first. ;-)

Wow. These attacks have the aspect of an elephant's bellow of pain as it accidentally sits on a hibachi. A GOP elephant that is... furious, rampaging and mostly random. :-D

(Part 1) First off, you condescend by telling me (with no explanation; I just have to take your word) that it's "going to be hard to understand." Don’t visit your level of comprehension (or lack thereof) on me; you haven’t the right. Then you say "no offense." Well, which is it, Mr. Brown? Can't be both, as condescension is offensive in any case, as is your general know-it-all tone throughout. Is that the sound of flip-flopping mixed with your bombast (disguised as humility)? And what makes your opinion (which is all you’ve proffered to belittle mine) more valid than mine? Crystal ball? Ouija? Tarot?

(Part 2) So I’ll try this again: Regardless of who is elected, nothing will turn around overnight. I never said otherwise (of course, that didn't matter to you; you're probably another one of those who cast Obama's suggestion to keep tires properly inflated as his "energy policy") However, with Obama in the White House, the odds of EVER digging this country/planet out of the halfway-to-hell hole its in, in our lifetime, are far better than with McLame. And no amount of essays on your part can prove me wrong. Perhaps the future will, but not you. So keep your condescension to yourself. What you lack in respect you more than make up for in ego, conceit, and rodomontade.

Brian - this is going to be hard to understand. No offense, most people aren't going to get it until it's too late. We're going to be traveling "the road to hell" no matter who is elected. I'm telling you man!! We're screwed and there isn't a thing McSame or Obama can do about it. Nobody wants it, but we're going to get it. I've written one essay on it and I'll write more. It took me a year to buy into this so I know it isn't easy to accept.
