Beginning Drawing

What:
This four week class will demonstrate how to draw using correct perspective and shading. Students will learn how to use different types of pencils, ink and other drawing tools; students will also learn how to select different types of paper and how to use different drawing techniques to create various effects. Discussing shading techniques, understanding perspective and creating compositions will also be part of the course; students will experiment with pencil, ink and charcoal as drawing mediums throughout the course of the class. Students will leave with a better understanding of the different aspects of drawing such as perspective, shading and composition.
Maria Deligio is a Colorado native with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an Art Education Certificate to teach grades K - 12. Working with several different age groups and abilities for the last five years in Chicago and Denver Public Schools, she has used a wide range of specialties in art including, drawing, painting, printmaking, jewelry making, papermaking, ceramics and bookmaking. She loves art and its many cultural connections and also enjoys sharing the cultural backgrounds and techniques of different art processes with students.
