Longmont Museum exhibit explores Day of the Dead

What:

People of all cultures honor the memories of their ancestors. In many parts of Mexico, South America, and the United States, El Día de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is a time to honor and celebrate deceased loved ones. Community participation is an essential part of this holiday that is full of life, reflection, food, family, and fun.

See how Longmont's sister city Ciudad Guzmán celebrates the Days of the Dead inan expanded collaborative exhibit that featurestwelve community altars, a special large altar built by artist from Ciudad Guzmán, folk arts from Mexican and Colorado artists, new photographs, and interactives.

Admission is free.

Where: Longmont Museum & Cultural Center, 400 Quail Road, Longmont CO 80501, 303 651-8374
When: 9 am - 5 pm, Tues, Thurs-Sat, 9 am - 8 pm Wed., 1 -5 pm Sun.
Event Dates: This event takes place every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10/11/2008 through 11/9/2008.
