What:	The Denver Pops Orchestra under the direction of Zina Richardson will be holding auditions for the following openings in August. First Clarinet Bassoon Section strings Percussion The Denver Pops Orchestra, also known as the Mostly Strauss Orchestra, still performs the same great mix of light classical as always. The orchestra is a community based nonprofit organization that has performed in the Denver metro area for twenty-five years. The 55 plus members of the orchestra volunteer their time and talents to the orchestra and represent a wide range of ages and vocations. The DPO repertoire includes light classical, symphonic, operatic, and pops compositions. The orchestra plays a variety of concerts, formal dances, benefits and special events. The Denver Pops Orchestra was founded by Zina Richardson in 1979 to address the need for a "pops" orchestra in the Denver area. The goal of the group is to present popular music concerts of orchestral music to the Denver Metropolitan area. Additionally the group annually presents two dance programs for the Friends of Traditional Dance on CSU campus, Ft. Collins. Auditions will be held for Clarinet and Bassoon on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 beginning at 7:00PM at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 3120 Irving St, Denver. Auditions for section strings and percussion will be held at the first rehearsal. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:00PM to 9:15PM at Emmaus Lutheran Church beginning in late August.
