You will learn: to fill out the I-9 form and properly document new hires; how to make certain employees can legally work in the US; what to do if you receive a letter saying that an employee's social security number does not match; and much more.
Jay Fernandez graduated in 1995 from the CU Law School where he was an associate editor of the Law Review and class president. As the managing attorney of the Fernandez Law Firm, P.C., Jay provides legal counsel to businesses and individuals in the areas of: business start-up and formation; business consulting; employment, real estate, contract, estate planning, family and criminal law. Prior to college, he worked as a professional deep sea diver in Alaska and an executive chef. He sits on the Colorado Board of Law Examiners, is a past chairman of the board of directors of the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, and is on the LFU board of directors. Jay also volunteers for numerous local municipal, non-profit, and charitable organizations.
