The Longmont Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) proudly announces the eighth annual Festival on Main celebration to be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:30 PM.

Get ready to dance! After a five year hiatus from performing in Longmont, The Nacho Men are back as the festival's headliner musical venue. Stage time for this sizzling dance band of high energy, humor and musical vituosity is 8:00 PM. Opening for the lead performers at 6:00 PM is another festival favorite, Mojomama, the band that delivers the fusion of 60's soul sounds and contemporary rock.

Festival attendees will experience plenty of fun and excitement during an evening when Main Street in Downtown Longmont is closed to traffic from Third Avenue to Long's Peak Avenue. Entertainment offerings include: street performers such as live statues, jugglers and fire eaters, stilt walking, a miniature train ride, a 14-foot bubble making machine, an inflatable slide, obstacle course and Shrek combo, a climbing wall, bungee trampoline and more hands-on children's activities. This year will include greater food vendor participation and displays, as well as games and sidewalk

demonstrations hosted by local Main Street businesses.

The Longmont Small Business Association (LSBA) is hosting a small-business expo during the festival. Participating businesses will man their booths showcasing products and services.
