The City of Longmont Recreation Services is offering fly fishing courses. Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding areas are home to many small rivers, creeks and pristine alpine lakes, plus we boast four different species of trout in the immediate area. Waders, fly rod and reel and all the flies and tackle for the outing are included! The only extra expense is your license. Learn the elements of casting, selection of flies and the techniques to catch wild trout. Start the day learning casting techniques on one of the beautiful lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park. After that, move downstream and begin to learn fly selection, techniques for reading water and stalking wild trout. All fishing trips have a one-to-three guide to client ratio! Our guides are patient, trained professionals eager to teach the art of fly fishing. It doesn't matter if you are new to the sport or a seasoned angler. Directions/ location will be given after enrollment. Your choice of a half day or full day course.
