4-H Carnival a Success
Contributed by: Marsha Slepicka on 3/17/2008

The 47 th Annual 4-H Carnival has come and gone for another year. The Boulder County Extension Office and ALL the 4-H clubs who had booths want to say "THANK YOU" to everyone who came and supported us.

Carnival goers were able to play a variety of games like: cake walk, lead a llama, frog hop, tropical spin (spin the wheel), shooting marshmallows, and a bounce house. Bowling, shooting, dart and bean bag toss skills were enhanced also. Prizes galore walked out the door, all with smiles as big as the winner and some prizes bigger than the winner!

The silent auction, which supports 4-H scholarships, judging teams, speech and talent contest, camps, leadership and citizenship conferences was well supported with over 530 items donated. The 5:00 p.m. close of the auction allowed many people to snap up some great bargains.

Proceeds from the Carnival and silent auction grossed over $15,000. Again - thank you!

The Carnival also inaugurated the 2008 Boulder Country 4-H Ambassadors. Congratulations go out to:

Clancy Anderson
Rusti Montgomery
Molly Cook
BobbieJo Minor
Vanessa Slepicka

These young individuals will represent the 4-H program in various activities throughout the coming year.

4-H, which has grown to become the largest youth development organization in our nation, appreciates the support of the community and welcomes anyone interested in learning more about 4-H to join us and "learn by doing".
