Fifty Artists Converge on Longmont Museum
Contributed by: Erik Mason on 8/25/2005

Longmont ’s arts community joins together each year to host the Longmont Studio Tours. This year, fifty artists from across Longmont and northern Boulder County are participating in this annual event. To see works by all the artists, you have two choices: 1. Visit the Preview Exhibition at the Longmont Museum , or 2. Rent a jet helicopter to visit all fifty artists during the actual Studio Tours September 17-18. Admission to the Longmont Museum is free, while jet helicopter rental is not.
Each artist contributes one work to the Preview Exhibition, making this show the broadest look at Longmont’s art community each year. Longmont artists work in a range of artistic media, from oil painting, prints, watercolors and photography to blown glass, ceramics, jewelry, fiber art and mixed media. Some work takes inspiration from the backyard, some from across the world.
On Friday, September 10, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., meet the artists at the opening for the Preview Exhibition. Longmont Studio Tours will take place at the homes and studios of artists on September 17 and 18, and the Preview Exhibition will be up until October 16, 2005.
