Bringing the Arts to Life
Contributed by: Lynn Fleming on 5/16/2007

BOULDER, CO (May 16, 2007) -- The Boulder County Arts Alliance (BCAA) has launched a vibrant new advertising campaign based on the theme, "Bringing the Arts to Life." Print and banner ads, created to increase public awareness of BCAA's work in support of the arts and the variety and excellence of the arts available in Boulder County, will highlight dance, theatre, music, visual arts, literature and film. Each ad is a visual metaphor demonstrating how the arts transform a mundane world of black and white into a colorful and vibrant community.

The "Bringing the Arts to Life" campaign was created by Boulder graphic artist Annette Coleman of Annette Coleman Creative Communications, working in conjunction with the BCAA Marketing Committee. BCAA member photographers have contributed time and stock images for the ads. Boulder County dancers, actors, conductors and other artists will serve as models in the ads.

The ads will appear on banners used at the BCAA Annual Members' Celebration, June 6, and at other Boulder County events throughout the year. The ads will also be printed in the arts programs of member organizations. Brock Publishing, a major media sponsor of Boulder County Arts Alliance, has donated space for these ads inboth Boulder Magazine and Boulder County Home and Garden Magazine. Other pro bono advertising opportunities are being sought for this campaign.

Founded in 1966 as the Arts and Humanities Assembly of Boulder (AHAB), BCAA is an "umbrella" organization that promotes artistic excellence in Boulder County and provides an infrastructure to support Boulder County artists and cultural organizations in finding their market. With approximately 400 active members, the Alliance facilitates exhibitions for artists, is a conduit for grants, and provides education on the business of the arts to all disciplines. The organization also provides information about Boulder County arts and artists to the general public.

This year, BCAA's Members' Celebration highlights the 12 th anniversary of the Addison Mini-Grant Program and honors program founder and benefactor Mark Addison for his leadership and philanthropy in the arts. The Celebration begins with an award ceremony at 5:30, followed by entertainment, fine arts, food and prizes at 6:30. It will be held at The Dairy Center for The Arts, 2590 Walnut Street, Boulder, and is open to the public. For schedules of other events and arts opportunities, general information about BCAA and information regarding membership and sponsorship, visit www.bouldercountyarts.org.
