Abstract art is now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses color and form in a non-representational way.
So imagine now an individual artist's: very different and unique take of her own individualistic interpretation of abstract art.
What you get is a mind-bending plate pleasing experience that can be had at the Second Friday Art-Walk held at the
French Quarter Photography Studio & Gallery 522 4 th Ave October 12, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
Featuring the works of abstract artist Diane Goldenstein.
Reflected in the pieces in the show are elements from the gestural abstract vain as well as action painting with hints of Mondrian and Kandinsky. In abstract painting much is made of the subconscious as well as the spontaneous act of creating the paint. Both can be found here in mass.
Every abstract painter is different in their use of design, shapes, colors, styles. The work from Diane Goldenstein runs the range from the very subtle and obtuse to the use of texture that is barely contained by the canvas it's affixed to.
Emphasized here is the interaction of the art with the paint, and canvas, the tools used as well as they physical qualities of texture shape, and color. This art affords one the opportunity to get in touch with the unconscious part of our existence, feelings, and emotions.
This artist isn't truly unbound by the conventions of representational art and has entered the realm of unbounded imagination.
