East County Artist Studio Tour May 13 and 14

The East Boulder County Artist Studio Tour is slated for the weekend of May 13th and 14th , 2006. For the seventh year in a row, a diverse group of artists from Louisville, Lafayette, Longmont, Superior and Erie are opening their studios for a self-guided public tour that promotes art and artists, educates about art, and allows the public to purchase art without high overhead costs. A wide variety of art forms can be experienced which include oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, sculpture, handmade books and gold-leaf, ceramics, mosaics, art quilts, woodcarvings, photography, jewelry and hand made furniture. The public may interact on a one-to-one basis with the artists, and participate in demonstrations. From 10:00 am until 5:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, this tour can be taken at leisure, with time to see and understand some of the artists' creative processes.

The public can preview artists works of art at The Old Firehouse Art Center, 667 4th



Ave. Longmont, May 9-13. An artist Gala Reception will be held at the Old Firehouse



May 12, 6-9 PM.

All of these events are free and open to the public.
