After a week of Bluegrass Academy the 2007 edition of RockyGrass (sorry sold out) officially opened the morning of July 27 in a driving rainstorm, said Brian Eyster, Planet Bluegrass' marketing director.

During the academy week July 22 through July 27, pickers from across the nation converged on the Planet Bluegrass festival grounds in Lyons to tune up their craft.

Planet Bluegrass also opened its new Wildflower Pavilion on the festival grounds. Nationally acclaimed Nickel Creek christened the pavilion with a show on the morning of July 24.
