"Art for the Animals" raises funds for pets

Local artists gathered to show off their wares and raise money for the Longmont Humane Society over Mother's Day weekend, May 10 and 11. Twenty percent of the sales benefited the human society. The event raised $347 plus bags of pet food to be donated.

The event was held at the home and studio of artist and Longmont resident Dorothy Pecina, 11938 Oxford Road, Longmont. In addition to the art for sale, visitors were invited to take a peek at the baby owls nesting in a nearby tree.

Eight local artists participated in this event. Theywere Ann Barnsley, Jeff Becker, Becky Everitt,Bobbie Long, Linda Miller, Ron Ogle, Dorothy Pecina, and Joseph Sikora.
