The Fibromyalgia Mystery Solved!
Contributed by: Louisville Chiropractic Clinic on 11/26/2006

Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a curse many carry. This condition plagues over 10 million Americans, 80-90% of them being women between the ages of 25 and 45. It is characterized by diffuse muscle pain, poor sleep, and unrelenting fatigue. However, it is rare that these are the only symptoms a person presents with. Most often, FMS sufferers also experience at least one or more of the following: headaches, anxiety, depression, poor memory, numbness and tingling in the extremities, cold hands and feet, irritable bowel syndrome, brain fog, lowered immune function, chemical sensitivities, muscle cramps, restless leg syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia, morning stiffness, and a variety of other symptoms.

FMS has long been considered a mystery. Western medicine has struggled to find an explanation for the widespread, systemic symptoms of FMS. Natural health care disciplines have had the most success in treating FMS, however, this success has been limited as well. The success attained by individual treatment approaches hovers between 20-35%. This to some is the difference between being bed ridden and being slightly functioning, thus the claims of success.

Good news for FMS sufferers has arrived. A local clinic, Louisville Chiropractic Clinic, has an answer that has already helped over 1,000 FMS sufferers get their lives back. The answer is a program they call The Fibromyalgia Solution Program. Dr. Garret Rock is the doctor in charge of overseeing the program. Says Dr. Rock, "This program is truly a revolutionary approach to treating fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. By integrating multiple disciplines, and the most successful treatments available into one program, we have had success that was never before imagined possible".

The Fibromyalgia Solution Program integrates a multidisciplinary approach to treating fibromyalgia. "We are using treatment techniques from medicine, chiropractic, massage, counseling, naturopathy, physical therapy, and natural hygiene. Each of these disciplines have had successes in their own way doing entirely different things, so it only made sense to integrate them all into one program," stated Dr. Rock.

The Program has quickly become well-known to FMS sufferers and the health care world as well. Other clinics are beginning to integrate similar programs, however doing so requires a substantial investment in equipment, and many are using alternate techniques in order to avoid the high costs. Elizabeth Snider, the office manager for Louisville Chiropractic Clinic, said "we are getting more and more referrals from medical doctors who have become familiar with our program." Dr. Rock is getting requests from practitioners around the United States to help them integrate the program into their clinics. Dr. Jeff Pearson in San Diego, CA is one of those practitioners helped by Dr. Rock. "This program is something special. It is totally unique, and undoubtedly the most effective treatment for fibromyalgia out there".

The program is based on extensive research on FMS and keeping an open mind to all potential treatments available. "We researched fibromyalgia with an open mind, and therefore were not blind to the successes out there" says Dr. Rock.

Louisville Chiropractic Clinic offers informational packets free of charge upon request. The packets provide the latest information available on fibromyalgia and outline the treatment program.
